Michigan State to play #11 Virginia Tech Friday afternoon

Michigan State will close out their annual spring break trip with a 1:00 pm EST game at #11 Virginia Tech in Blacksburg Virginia.

The Hokies are 3-2 in 2016 and just returned from a two game road trip last weekend to Orlando Florida.

Cam Holding's 2016 Michigan State team is looking to rebound from a 13-6 loss to #19 Liberty University in Lynchburg Virginia on Wednesday evening.

The Spartans are hoping to finish their annual spring break trip with a .500 record with one win this season vs then-#31 Auburn on March 7 and losses to #2 Georgia Tech on March 6 and Liberty University on Wednesday.

After the game Friday, the Spartans will drive back to Michigan, expecting to return to East Lansing early Saturday morning. They will have driven over 2,200 miles on the four-game trip, logging close to 40 hours of travel on their motor coach.

Spartans Open Conference Play at Home Thursday, March 17 vs Davenport University

The 2016 Spartans open their Central Collegiate Lacrosse Associate (CCLA) conference season at home on Ralph Young Field (adjacent to Spartan Stadium) on Thursday, March 17 vs. #27 Davenport University.

Davenport beat the Spartans last year during the CCLA regular season in Grand Rapids and the Spartans bested the Panthers 9-7 in the CCLA Championship game at Highmark Stadium in Pittsburgh, earning the CCLA automatic qualifier to the Men's Collegiate Lacrosse Association national tournament in Orange County California in May 2015.
