Michigan State Unveils 2019 Schedule

The Michigan State men’s lacrosse team has unveiled its spring slate for the 2019 season. On February 15th, the Spartans will begin their first title defense in program history.

Their 2019 schedule is far from a cake walk. Out of 13 regular season games, eight are tournament contenders from just a few months ago, including two from the final four: South Carolina and Chapman. All eyes from across the MCLA will be on the March 3rd matchup against the Panthers from southern California in a national championship rematch.

This upcoming year will also bring a transition into a new conference for the Spartans. The Continental Lacrosse Conference (CLC) was made official on August 8th combining the Central Collegiate Lacrosse Association (CCLA) and the Pioneer Collegiate Lacrosse League.

The Spartans’ run of seven consecutive CCLA crowns finally comes to an end. However, DJ Lubs and company won’t be going gently into that good night. MSU was the underdog a year ago, but now a matchup with them is a landmark on their opponents’ calendars. They have a point to prove and will be looking to make it loud and clear with the grind they’ve laid out for 2019.
