Spartans back in action with three games this week

Michigan State will play three games this week, one CCLA league game and two scrimmages. On Wednesday, the Spartans head to Rochester Michigan to face the Oakland University Grizzlies. Oakland joined the CCLA Division 1 this year after previously competing in Division 2. Oakland has more than 17,000 undergraduate students at their 1,200 acre campus 30 miles northwest of Detroit.

Thursday, the Spartans travel to Albion College for an afternoon scrimmage against the Britons. The Brits compete in the MIAA conference and are a NCAA Division III program. Last year Albion made a deep run in the NCAA Division III tournament.

Sunday afternoon the Spartans welcome the Cleveland State Men\'s Club team to Ralph Young Stadium. Cleveland State will be competing as a NCAA Division 1 program next season.

Head Coach Cam Holding offered his thoughts for the week. "The players and coaches both benefited from a much-needed rest last week due to the weather postponing our game at Central Michigan. Our spring break and early season travel and playing six games in 14 days  was beginning to wear on us. With that said, the guys are excited to be back on the field and we'll have three new opponents this week that will keep our interest and enthusiasm high."
