Spartans close out 2026 at 10-5 with a trip to the national tournament

The 2026 season is done, and it was a good one. Michigan State finished 10-5 overall, went a perfect 5-0 at home, and picked up two playoff wins — 14-8 over Purdue and 15-12 over Minnesota — before the run ended against top-seeded Brigham Young at the MCLA National Tournament on May 4.

The highlight of the regular season came on March 19, when the Spartans knocked off #1 Grand Valley State 11-10 under the lights at Spartan Greens. The team also swept Western Michigan and Central Michigan by a combined 32-14 in April.

By the numbers

• Devin Koetje led the team with 36 goals.
• Vijay Foster finished with 67 points on 28 goals and 39 assists.
• Ryan Hathaway made 164 saves in goal at a 58.4% clip.
• Austin Walburn scooped up a team-high 48 ground balls.
• Lorenzo Ruma and Jack Kishman each won 83 faceoffs.
